ALBANY, NY –– The Albany Devils and the Portland Pirates meet for the second game of their home-and-home series Saturday at Times Union Center. The 5:05 pm game marks the Devils’ Home Opener. The team is 4-5-0-0 all-time in home openers, winning their last two including a 3-2 victory against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers last season on Oct. 18.

For Albany: Blake Pietila has two goals in the last two games. He netted the game-winning goal during Albany’s 3-2 victory at Toronto last Sunday and followed with a breakaway tally Friday at Portland. The rookie spent the last four years at Michigan Tech (WCHA), amassing 46 goals and 60 assists for 106 points in 153 contests. He was New Jersey’s fourth choice (129th overall) during the 2011 NHL Draft.
For Portland: Greg McKegg registered a hat trick Friday against Albany. The 23-year-old is in his fifth professional season and has 115 points with 55 goals and 60 assists in 194 AHL contests. He was drafted by Toronto in the third round (62nd overall) during the 2010 NHL Draft.

Tonight’s game will be the 54th all-time meetings between the Devils and Pirates. The Devils are 20-23-2-8 overall with a 9-10-1-6 home mark and an 11-13-1-2 road record. The Devils went 1-2-1-0 against the Pirates last season.
