ALBANY, NY — Scott Wedgewood is heading back to the Albany Devils after the New Jersey Devils activated Cory Schneider off injured reserve Wednesday. Wedgewood, who was recalled on Mar. 20, appeared in four NHL games, going 2-1-1 with a 1.24 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage.
The 23-year-old made his NHL debut and earned his first career win on the same day as his recall against Columbus. He followed four days later with a 39-save shutout at Pittsburgh.
This season in the AHL, Wedgewood has missed significant time because of a groin injury at the beginning of the season and a shoulder injury at the end of January. In 16 outings, he is 9-2-3 with a 1.69 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage.
