What To Watch For: Mar. 23-29

Coming off back-to-back wins this past weekend, the Albany Devils travel south to face the Norfolk Admirals for a pair of games at Scope Arena. Friday’s game is at 7:30 pm and Saturday’s outing is at 7:15 pm. The Devils are making their final journey to Norfolk as the Admirals will be playing in the ECHL next season.

Rewind

The Devils and Admirals met for a pair of games at Times Union Center last weekend. After dropping the first game, 1-0, Wednesday, Albany rebounded during the second fixture, 4-3, Saturday. The Devils followed with a 5-3 victory against the Hartford Wolf Pack Sunday.

Five In The Third

During Sunday’s victory, the Devils erupted for five goals during the third period with four tallies coming within the first 7:27. They tied a franchise record for goals in one period, which was also accomplished three other times: Dec. 2, 2007 vs. Manchester (Third, 6-3); Jan. 14, 2007 vs. Philadelphia (Second, 6-3); Dec. 27, 2008 vs. Providence (First, 8-1).

Player Development

On Monday, Stefan Matteau became the 12th Devils to play for New Jersey and Albany this season. Goaltenders: Scott Clemmensen, Keith Kinkaid; Defensemen: Mark Fraser, Peter Harrold, Seth Helgeson, Adam Larsson; Forwards: Steve Bernier, Reid Boucher, Stefan Matteau, Tim Sestito, Mike Sislo, Joe Whitney.

Player Streaks

Brandon Burlon, Raman Hrabarenka and Chris McKelvie enter the week on two-game point streaks. Burlong has a goal and three assists and Hrabarenka has two tallies and an assist. McKelvie has a goal and two helpers.
